<p>Eating healthy can be easy and simple to implement. Once you start making choices that are healthy and incorporate the habit into your life, it becomes second nature and you won&#8217;t have to think about it much again. Make sure you always have healthy food choices available and the rest is a piece of cake.</p>
<p>A meal or snack needs to incorporate a proper balance between a protein, carbohydrate and fat.</p>
<p>Have you determined for yourself your daily caloric consumption needs? I know that for myself if I&#8217;m trying to lose wight, I cannot consume more than 1200 calories per day. On the other hand, if I&#8217;m trying to maintain my current weight, I&#8217;m allow to consumer 1500 calories per day.</p>
<p>Once you figure out how many calories you should be eating, you then need to divide them out over 5-6 small meals/snacks throughout the day. Remember that the meals/snacks should compliment each other with a adequate balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Let me give you an example of these choices to make during the day.</p>
<p>I should make a quick mention of portion sizes.  Do you know what a serving of meat looks like? No, it&#8217;s not the 22 ounce T-bone at your local steak house. A portion of meat is 3 ounces, the size of a woman&#8217;s palm. </p>
<p>SEVERAL VISUAL EXAMPLES OF DIFFERENT FOOD PORTIONS:</p>
<p>* 1 medium fruit &#8212; tight fist or tennis ball</p>
<p>* 1/2 cup of fruit, veggie, cooked cereal, rice or pasta &#8212; cupcake size or tight fist</p>
<p>* 1 cup of tossed salad &#8212; the amount you can hold in two hands cupped together.</p>
<p>* 1 medium baked potato &#8212; computer mouse</p>
<p>* 1 cup of cold cereal &#8212; large handful or tight fist </p>
<p>* 3 ounces of poultry, meat or fish &#8212; palm of a woman&#8217;s hand or deck of cards</p>
<p>* 1 ounce of cheese &#8212; 4 dice or the top half of your thumb </p>
<p>* 1 ounce of meat, fish, chicken or poultry &#8212; 1 egg</p>
<p>* 1 tsp &#8212; the tip of a medium-framed woman&#8217;s thumb. Also, 3 tsp is equal to 1 tbsp.</p>
<p>BREAKFAST:</p>
<p>We all know that we need a good breakfast to start our day.  Without that, we are setting ourselves up for failure of maintaining our blood sugar levels.  I would suggest keeping breakfast, lunch and dinner at the same calorie count and then adding smaller snack between meals.</p>
<p>Choose an item from each of the food groups for a healthy balanced breakfast.</p>
<p>Protein:  1 cup low fat yogurt, 1 oz of low fat cheese, 1 cup nonfat milk, 1 hard boiled egg </p>
<p>Carbohydrate:  1 slice of whole grain toast, bagel or muffin, 1/2 cup of whole grain cereal or oatmeal, or granola bar. </p>
<p>Fruit:  1/2 banana, small apple, orange, grapefruit,  3/4 cup of raspberries, strawberries, blueberries</p>
<p>LUNCH AND DINNER:</p>
<p>Preparing lunch and dinner is very simple.  Pick a lean protein, add some vegetables and top it off with some fruit for dessert.</p>
<p>Choose an item from each of the food groups for a healthy balanced lunch or dinner.</p>
<p>Protein:  Lean beef, pork, beans, chicken, fish, turkey, etc.</p>
<p>Vegetable:  Salad greens, spinach, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans, etc.  For a serving size, fill about 1/4 of your plate with protein, 1/2 of your plate with vegetables,  and the other quarter with healthy carbohydrates.</p>
<p>Carbohydrate:  Brown rice, corn, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, 1 slice of whole grain bread etc.  </p>
<p>Dessert:  Pear, apple, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup of strawberries or raspberries with a dollop of nonfat whipped topping.</p>
<p>SNACKS:</p>
<p>Snacks are essential to successful weight loss.  In order to maintain your metabolism in between meals, healthy snacks are essential.  For your snack, consume between 100 to 125 calories.</p>
<p>Choose an item from each of the food groups for a healthy balanced snack.</p>
<p>Protein: 1 oz. low sodium, low fat luncheon meat, low fat string cheese, hard boiled egg, small yogurt cup, 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese.</p>
<p>Carbohydrate:  1/2 banana, apple, grapes, plum, baby carrots, 1 slice of whole grain bread, etc.</p>
<p>Healthy fats:  Handful of almonds, walnuts cashews or mixed nuts, 1 slice of avocado, 2 tbsp of peanut butter.</p>
<p>This doesn&#8217;t have to hard.  These are just guidelines for healthy foods.  Don&#8217;t make this boring by eating the same thing every day.  There are so many more foods then what I listed here but be creative. Try a new fruit and vegetable every week. Remember, this is easy!</p>

<p>QUESTION: is nuclear myocardial perfusion scintigraphy useful in predicting an increase in exercise capacity after coronary artery revascularization using percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)?</p>
<p>BACKGROUND: Since the Courage Trial, there remains doubt over which patients should undergo coronary artery revascularization using percutaneous coronary intervention. In patients with stable angina, PCI has not been shown to be associated with a survival benefit over modern medical therapy. Furthermore, complications from PCI are associated with a risk of morbidity of about 0.25% and risk of mortality of about 0.20%.</p>
<p>RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: Stress-rest myocardial perfusion scintigraphy has important prognostic ability to predict mortality, but can it also help predict just who will show the greatest benefit from PCI? Does MPS help forecast who will show an improved exercise capacity after PCI? In the UK, what is the prevalence of inducible ischemia in those patients who undergo a PCI procedure? </p>
<p>PATIENTS: Patients were mostly male (86%) and most (63%) but not all (37%) had stable angina. Patients were recruited prospectively from the a group of patients that had a positive diagnostic angiogram and were already scheduled to undergo an elective PCI procedure. </p>
<p>METHODS: Within one month before having their PCI procedure, patients in the study underwent stress-rest myocardial perfusion scintigraphy using a same day, single-isotope protocol using Tc-99m tetrofosmin. Treadmill exercise was utilized for the stress test as much as possible. The patient&#8217;s New York Heart Association functional status was assessed, and all patients answered the Seattle Angina Questionnaire. The cardiologists that performed the PCI procedures were blinded as to the outcome of the stress-rest perfusion scan. None of the PCI procedures were canceled due to the results of the perfusion scan.</p>
<p>At the 6 month follow-up visit after their PCI procedure, patients were once again evaluated for symptoms and functional status. A repeat treadmill test using the same protocol was performed in those patients that underwent treadmill stress ECG testing at baseline. Clinicians who performed this follow-up stress test were unaware of the results of the baseline test.</p>
<p>Scan images were evaluated quantitatively using the Cedars-Sinai AutoSPECT and AutoQuant programs. Semiquantitative analysis was performed using summed scoring with a 17 segment 5-point scale. There were two readers who looked at each patient study. The mean of the semiquantitative summed scores assigned by these two readers were used for statistical analysis.</p>
<p>RESULTS: There were a total of 123 patients evaluated. Of these, the exercise treadmill stress test was positive in 72% of patients. A reversible defect affecting greater than 10% of the myocardium was present in 20% of the patients, and smaller perfusion defects seen in an additional 54% of patients. The other 26% of patients did not have any reversible perfusion defects. The majority of patients had daily, stable angina.</p>
<p>Six months later at the follow-up evaluation, improvement was seen in the Seattle Angina Questionnaire and in exercise capacity. Looking at the entire patient population, the Seattle Angina Questionnaire physical limitation score improved from 66 to 75, which was highly statistically significant. Exercise capacity also showed a highly significant improvement, with the average exercise tolerance increasing from 7 to 9 METS. The New York Heart Association functional class, however, was unchanged in 62%, improved in 33%, and worse in 5%.</p>
<p>The predictors of clinical and functional improvement were also evaluated. A multivariate analysis found that independent, statistically significant predictors of improvement were male gender, limiting chest pain on stress testing, and inducible hypoperfusion on myocardial perfusion imaging. </p>
<p>CONCLUSION: Only 20% of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention had inducible myocardial ischemia of 10% or greater. The combination of limiting chest pain with treadmill stress testing and significant reversible perfusion defects on perfusion scintigraphy help predict a large gain in improvement after revascularization.</p>

<p>Basic ways to ease the pain.In a modern world where the demands of life are constant work and tedious responsibility we almost experience constant stress . This is made worse by not having enough time or not knowing on how to reduce our stress, but the world offers so much. There are basic ways on how to get rid of stress, one of them is learning and applying in our life the reiki technique.</p>
<p>What is Reiki? It is a way of explaining how the proper flow of an individual&#8217;s energy levels affects one&#8217;s body. Reiki is basically from Japanese origin as a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that can also promote healing. It treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. The reiki technique is to bring wholeness in you and get rid of all stress whether they may be on the outside or in. The Reiki technique believes that if one&#8217;s &#8220;life force energy&#8221; is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel the stress and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.</p>
<p>A person is often even more stressed on how to do this but it is really just a basic practice of treating our body well. For example, the act of meditation. One form of meditation is expressed in Zazen and Vipassana where it centers on formal sitting, the aim is to practice proper breathing while keeping the body immobile and the attention of the person controlled. It is an easy way to keep peace inside yourself while working outwards on how the tension on your body is removed. Meditation also concentrates on how the person thinks; it could be an expressive practice where the body is free to do anything while the mind aims to have positive perspective with the things happening around.</p>
<p>The most common form of getting rid of stress maybe known through massage, in this form a person starts to heal on the outside and moves deeper inside until all the stress is completely gone. A massage slowly terminates the tension in the body be applying pressure to it, the muscles are relax and the person starts to unwind. This leads to the person feeling better and thus thinking better as well, because stress is often related to fatigue, a good massage will find ways to eliminate fatigue and create a better, healthier feel.</p>
<p>As said earlier, massage is about making the body loose and less tense by applying pressure. The hands, feet, fingers, forearms and elbows of the person can be used to apply pressure, but the person should preferably be a massage therapist. Since a massage therapist is already well oriented on what areas of the body need pressure, it will have a better effect and prevent the individual from feeling more tension caused by wrong methods of massage.</p>
<p>There are simple and easy ways to feel better. Whether we choose to start from our physical pain moving inward or create an inner balance in ourselves and move outward. Various methods will help us get through every back-breaking day with ease and comfort.</p>

<p>What They Are Porcelain veneers are simply small ceramic plates that are custom fitted to your teeth. They can be color adjusted to match your other teeth and can fix a number of issues, including covering cracks or stains and making crooked teeth look straight. </p>
<p>The ceramic used in these cosmetic repairs creates a very natural look and it is virtually impossible to tell that someone has had their teeth done. This is because the enamel of the tooth is actually translucent and any light that falls on it goes through the first few layers before reflecting back. <p>According to Karl Jung, &#8220;what you resist, persists&#8221;. If you&#8217;ve heard of the Law of Attraction, you probably already know this statement and understand its significance. The Law states that what we think about, we bring about. Whatever we spend time focusing on, particularly with great feeling, we can bring into reality. The problem is, if you spend more time worrying over the things you don&#8217;t want to happen, by the very nature of the Law, you are drawing these circumstances towards you.</p>
<p>If this applies to everything in life, it&#8217;s certainly true for the problem of hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. If this problem affects you, how much time do you spend thinking about it, and how much feeling (worry, stress, anxiety) is behind that thought? And the more you get stressed, the more you sweat?</p>
<p>If you start to sweat, you start to worry, and think about your sweating even more. The Law of Attraction says that if this is the case, you are literally asking for more sweat!</p>
<p>Think about it, even when you&#8217;re not sweating, if you are going to work in an office all day, or are on your way out for a date, you probably have in your mind the worry that you will start sweating even though it hasn&#8217;t actually happened yet.</p>
<p>And this worrying is a pretty strong emotion to attach to your thought so the more you worry about it the more likely it is that your sweating is going to start.</p>
<p>The Law of Attraction would probably take a lot more than the space on this page to explain in detail, but if you can believe that thinking about the problem makes it worse, you can use the Law to your benefit. If you start to use the power of positive thoughts, the Law will help you overcome your problem.</p>
<p>If what you are wanting is to be sweat-free, confident and dry all day, then give some focus to that. Visualise yourself in the office sat back in your chair with your arms behind your head and not a hint of perspiration showing on your shirt or blouse. Picture yourself on a fantastic date where you are able to get really close to your partner because you know your underarms are dry and fresh.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve ever heard of or used affirmations, these are a big part of using the Law to your benefit. By affirming, saying out loud or in your head, what you want the positive outcome to be, the Law will take notice and bring this outcome to you.</p>
<p>Affirmations should always be positive and in the present tense to be really effective, for example you could try saying this every morning before you go off to work. &#8220;I am confident and comfortable and my underarms are dry and fresh all day&#8221;.</p>
<p>If the Law of Attraction is something totally new to you, you might not see how positive thinking and affirmations can improve your problem. However, if you really believe in what you are saying and put thought and feeling in to it, it might be something that could really help your excessive sweating problem. <p>Most of us have been taught to curse our physical symptoms and to get rid of them through surgery or medication or to deny or cope with them. Doing this sends messages to ourselves that say &#8220;You&#8217;re not important.&#8221; or &#8220;This organ or breast isn&#8217;t needed.&#8221; We tell ourselves we don&#8217;t have time to feel, grieve or heal naturally. However, if we can see our first symptoms as inherent messengers, we can learn natural remedies to prevent many of our health-related issues. Our bodies tell the truth. We can learn how our emotions manifest as physical challenges.</p>
<p>Looking in the mirror, I witnessed my own emotional pain as a &#8220;physical art form,&#8221; and as this honest messenger transformed in front of my eyes, I healed from a devastating disease. By age 37 I felt successful in my new clothes, home and car. I was hired when companies needed help in solving complex business problems, and my normal workday averaged 12 to 14 hours.</p>
<p>Then one day it was all over. I was in a specialist&#8217;s office being diagnosed with rosacea, an incurable, deforming, disfiguring facial skin disease. Treating myself like an infallible machine had caught up with me. The disease had no mercy as it continued to worsen for the next six years. I spent all my financial resources going from medical specialists to naturopathic practitioners, in my heart begging to understand how my immune system could heal and repair.</p>
<p>I concluded that the body is a natural system, so I chose to avoid medications. Fifty doctors later, I was still searching for those same answers. I was determined to prove that the inherent intelligence within me knew how to heal me, after six years I began to doubt my core belief. </p>
<p>Once I had progressed into my 40&#8217;s, I could see my skin was worse, it was red and inflamed, and I had daily boils. I also found that the sight in my eyes was going and was unable to read drive and watch tv all that well either. Obviously, this had a significant impact on the plans and dreams I had in my life. I would come to realise and think, mostly when I was alone, that I sympathised with people who had taken their own lives because of the pain.</p>
<p>After this, I met a Chinese doctor who gave me a diagnosis that was different from all of the other physicians. He said that the disease wasn&#8217;t just in my face, but it was concerned with the natural biological rhythms of my body not being in harmony &#8211; and this resulted in my face being directly affected because of the emotional fear and stress. This doctor also saw other symptoms of exhaustion through other indicators when he examined me. He said that my body felt lifeless and frail, and that I must find peace at whatever price. I was happy that there was a different opinion.</p>
<p>After this encounter I decided to begin emotional therapy. I first addressed the fears which had consumed me since my diagnoses, and then went back further through my past. I looked to face my work addiction and decided that I needed to treat my mental disease of being a workaholic &#8211; as I had denied a lot of personal things in life. I had felt a personal feeling of worthiness and thus needed to push the addiction forward. I wanted to stay busy and this resulted in exhaustion which caused me to feel angry and resentful because I had done this. I had served others for many years and this had impacted negatively on me and I didn&#8217;t stop doing it until my friends stopped me.</p>
<p>After sharing my story for over a year, after crying and trying to release pent-up emotions and an addiction to work in the local community I came across a miracle. I healed physically without scars and the sight in my eyes returned to normal. I had been on a healthy diet and exercise regularly for years which helped my body in the transformation. It was a program that I had worked out for myself that helped my body heal naturally and I did not have to take medications.</p>
